Q. Is it worth investing in a website for my business?
A. Most definitely - currently, about 15% of all sales in the UK are completed online. This is projected to soar to 40% by 2020.
Q. Isn't a '.com' better than a '.co.uk' domain name?
A. Not necessarily - unless you are an international company, there probably isn't much benefit from paying the extra for a '.com' name. However, many people still feel that it offers more credibility online - it is your choice.
Q. What about e-mail?
A. Included within the cost - up to five accounts. We'll set up an e-mail account which can be redirected to your personal account if you wish.
Q. What is search engine optimisation (SEO)?
A. It is a way of ensuring that people can find your web site using search engines such as Google or Yahoo. It can help to get near to the top of the rankings, but this varies amongst the various search engines - we can assist with this.
Q. Are there any ongoing costs?
A. The first year is an all-inclusive price - this covers your domain name fee and server rental. The only ongoing costs will be renewal of your domain name and annual server rental. The fee for your domain name will depend upon which type you purchased - for example a '.co.uk' domain will cost about £6 + VAT every two years. The server rental will be approximately £89 + VAT a year (as at September 2012).
Q. What about if I want changes?
A. If changes are required during the design process, there will be no extra charge, providing these are minimal and do not depart from the original agreed specification. Otherwise, charges are £25 per hour plus VAT, which is a highly competitive rate.
Q. Can I sell things on my website?
A. Yes - we can set up a 'shopping cart' for you, much like you see on virtually all commercial websites. Your website will need to be secure and show a padlock within the web browser - again, we'll take care of this for you
